THE “HERESY HUNT”
MUCH BICKERING LABOUR LEAGUE CONFERENCE ADOPTS FIGHTING PLATFORM. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright SYDNEY, February 10. -At tho Political Labour League Conference there was much bickering. _ The conference appointed a committee to inquire regarding the attitude with respect to the Blaynoy election, Mr Nielsen’s retirements from Parliament and other matters. The State Ministers have decided to ignore this so-called “heresy hunt. The Labour League’s Conference adopted the following fighting platform : Abolition of the Legislative Council. Abolition of the office of State Governor. Full citizen rights for women. Effective land settlement, including tho cessation of Crown land sales and taxation of land values. Nationalisation of health, including free medical, surgical, and nursing services. State maintenance of hospitals. Special care of maternity and protection of child-life. Equitable industrial laws. Complete free educational facilities. Establishment of State ironworks. Local Government reform, embracing full adult suffrage. Last week a special committee was appointed by tho conference to inquire into the attitude of tho State and Federal Labour members of Parliament with regard to tho resignation of Mr Neilsen, the Shearers’ Accommodation Bill, and the Blaynoy by-elcotion. Tho popular fooling in tho conference was that the members of the caucus were bound to obey the instructions of tho conference.
