Press Association. NAPIER, February 8. Thomas Ellis, a patient at the hospital, attempted suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. When found by Nurse Ellis he was in a weak state from loss of blood, but his injuries are not likely to prove fatal. CHRISTCHURCH, February 9. George Lincoln Smith, seventy-seven years of age, died suddenly yesterday afternoon. At the inquest a verdict was recorded of heart failure.
