PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE

ANNUAL STAFF PICNIC. ' The staff of the Public Trust Office held its fourth annual picnic at Day’s Bay on Friday last. The outing was a most enjoyable one. Sports wore held during the morning, and the afternoon was spent in cricket, swimming, tennis, bowls, etc. The results of the sports were: 100yds Handicap—E. W, Lewington 1, T. Fawcett 2, A. Miller 3. 220yds.—D .L. McKay 1, E. W. Lewingtou 2, G. H. Elliffe 3. High Jump.—T. Fawcett (sft 3in) 1, 0. H. Elliffe 2, A. S. Dawson 3. Nail-driving.—Miss Webb 1, Mis# O’Leary 2, Mrs O’Sullivan 3. Ladies’ Race. Miss Mclnerney I, Miss Jack 2, Miss O’Leary 3. Married Men’s Race.—Bretherton 1, Mackay 2, Edwards 3. Thread the Needle Race.—Miss Jack and D. L. McKay 1, Miss Mitchinson and T. Fawcett 2. Three tennis courts were taken for the day, and some keen and enjoyable games were contested by those who patronised the courts. Lunch and afternoon tea were aranged for by the committee, the catering being supplied by the Burlington Cafe. The committee consisted of Mrs Masters, Miss (Jack, and Messrs Egglestone, Elliffe, King, Myers, Ryan, Poananga, and Tattle (secretary).
