MAIN TRUNK EXPRESS
SECOND TRAIN TO BE STOPPED AFTER EASTER. Special to the “Times." WANGANUI, February 0. The second Main Trunk express, leaving Wellington at night and Auckland in the morning, has not been tho financial success anticipated, and 1 have been credibly informed that, tho experiment having proved unromuncrative, the express is to bo stopped after the Easter traffic has been disposed of. The service bas given a good deal of pleasure to travellers, particularly from tho Auckland end, and it is the opinion of many that it is only a matter of time when this service will have to bo reinstated and permanently established. The opportunity afforded of seeing so much of the most interesting country and prettiest scenery eu route must, it is said, eventually make it most popular.
