SPORTS PROTECTION LEAGUE
BRANCH AT PA MAT’D A. PAHIATDA, February i. A. largely attended meeting was held in Pahiatua last night, when an address was delivered by Mr A. Paape, secretary of the New Zealand Sports Protection League. Mr Paape stated that the league now had 70,000 members. A strong branch was formed here. A resolution was passed reminding the Government of the great injustice done to Pahiatua by depriving it of its racing club's permit, *and urging that legislation be brought down next session to remove the present anomaly.
