PROPOSED TRIANGULAR CONTEST ABANDONED. Press Association. AUCKLAND, February 4. The Auckland Rugby Onion has decided to drop the proposed triangular contest Auckland-Taranaki-Wellington, and invite those provinces to play Auckland as follows: Wellington in July and Taranaki in August. Both will be shield matches if Auckland then holds the trophy. .
