McCarthy presided and (says the “Telegraph”) voiced the general feeling of pleasure at Mr Moeller’s return home after his adventurous tripon the briny. He then presented Mr Moeller with a beautifully made lifebelt in gold engraved, “Our Frank returned home from sea, 27-1-13.” On the reverse side was the laconic inscription “6 a.m.” In making the presentation the chairman said he hoped that the gift would remind Mr Moeller of his famous trip and, if need be, serve a useful purpose in the future.
