FRENCH OPPOSITION TO APPOINTMENT.
HINDERS COMPLETION OF LOAN.
(Received January 30, 2.48 p.m.) LONDON, January 30. Router’s Pekin correspondent reports that French opposition te the appointment of a Danish Chief Inspector in tho Chinese Salt Tax Department, on tho ground that Danish money is not included in the six-Powcr loan, hinders tho completion of the loan negotiations.
The correspondent adds that the Chinese regard the French obstruction as duo to a desire to increase China’s difficulties in the interests of Russia’s Mongolian policy.
