Router’s Pekin correspondent reports that French opposition te the appointment of a Danish Chief Inspector in tho Chinese Salt Tax Department, on tho ground that Danish money is not included in the six-Powcr loan, hinders tho completion of the loan negotiations.

The correspondent adds that the Chinese regard the French obstruction as duo to a desire to increase China’s difficulties in the interests of Russia’s Mongolian policy.
