ON GROUNDS OF PROFESSIONALISM.

NEW YORK, January 28. Thorpe, the Indian athlete and winner of the Pentathlon and Decathlon contests at the Olympic. sports, has been adjudged a professional, on the ground that he played with a professional baseball team.
Ho loses all tho trophies, and the runners-up will be awarded them according to tho rules.
