The Wellington Harbour Ferries, Ltd., will run a steamer service to Day’s Bay to-day in connection with the Waterside Workers’ picnic, but ordinary tickets will not include admission to the grounds. Visitors desirous of entering the grounds must provide themselves with a picnic ticket, which must be presented at the gates. The D.LC. describes bargains obtainable at the summer sale now in progress.
George Fowlds, Ltd., Manners street, invite inspection to the dainty ties they arc now offering. E. W. Mills and Co., Ltd., draw attention to the merits of the "Duplex” stove, which is declared to cook meals without a fire.
H. W. Lloyd, jeweller and watchmaker, advertises a line of "Lucky” wedding rings at prices to suit everybody. The first term of the Wellington Girls' College will begin on February 5 th.
The time for receiving tenders for a service to Nino Island has been extended to noon on January 31st. Tenders are invited hy the Public Works Office for carrying out alterations and making additions to the Receiving Home, Tinakori road. The Queen’s Private Hotel is advertised by Mr J. S, McConkey as affording a comfortable home at a reasonable tariff.
Kirkcaldio and Stains, Ltd., announce tbat their summer sale will begin tomorrow, when discounts ranging from 33 1-3 to 50 per cent, will be allowed. E. Hannah and Co., Ltd., intimate that they are holding a summer sale of footwear, which begins simultaneously at all tßeir branches next Saturday. F. J. Tonkin and Co., Hastings, advertise several sheep farms in Hawke's Bay for sale. Holiday excursion tickets in connection with the Horowhenua Agricultural and Pastoral Show at Levin will be obtainable on January 29th by morning trains. Mcllvrido and Edmonds, Grey street, advertise several hotels and businesses for sole.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., will sell at Moore's Valley to-morrow, at X p.m., the whole of the Brinscombe Dairy Company’s cows, sheep, etc. Conveyances will meet passengers from Wellington at the lower Hutt on arrival of 10 a.m. train. The Federal Company, Pitt street, Sydney, advertise particulars of several hotels they have to dispose of.
