HOSPITAL SATURDAY
ENLISTING PUBLIC SYMPATHY. Hospital Saturday and Sunday will this year bo observed on February 15th and 16th. A meeting of ladies is being convened for Monday next in No. I committee room. Town Hall, by Mrs Trevor and Mrs Godber, and all those interested in this worthy movement are invited to attend. It is hoped on this occasion to surpass the collections of eighteen months ago, when £682 was contributed by the public. Tho hospital committee anticipate being enabled to devote a portion of the funds towards erecting a balcony and verandah to the Fraser and Allan wards, and thus practically make the additions into convalescent wards, the accommodation in this direction being severely taxed. It may nob be generally known that Wellington hospital treats over 300 pa tients a day. There were 323 patients attended to one day last week Tho children’s hospital accommodation is also largely -availed of, 23 children bn ing treated for minor operations last Wednesday.
