BOARD OF ADVICE

SCIENCE AND THE MUSEUM. Last session a special committee of tho House of Representatives, appointed to inquire into the subject, recommended the Government to establish a Scientific Board of Advice for the control of scientific publications issued by the Government, such publications, as far as possible, to bo of uniform size and style. It was further recommended that a board should be constituted for the control of the Dominion Museum, and that a scientific library should be established. Speaking with a “Times” representative yesterday, the Hon. H. D..8e11, Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that it was probable that the Government would next session introduce legislation to give effect to the committee’s recommendations. The subject will be discussed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute, which will be held at the Dominion Museum on Wednesday morning next. The Minister will probably be in attendance.
