■ On Thursday last, at eight o’clock in the evening, the ketch Unity, of 43 tons, Captain M. Thomson, master, bound from Lyttelton with a cargo consisting of 60 tons of flour from Wellington, was approaching Cape Campbell, when a squall sprung up, and blew a heavy gale fromS.S.W. The vessel first touched theSandline rook, and about five minutes later struck on the North Reef. The boat was got oht, and all hands, -five in all, got in. The crew saved nothing, as the vessel broke up twenty minutes after striking. The crew reached the lighthouse after three hours’hard pulling. Mr. Handley, the keeper of the lighthouse, showed the shipwrecked sailors great kindness, and lent them clothes. The crew reached this place on foot last night. The vessel was owned half by the master and the rest by Captain Thomas, of Wellington.
