Thursday. October 17. The proceedings opened with pr»r*r. Tho minutes ol tho former meeting were read and confirmed. .. , , ~ Tho Clerical Secretary mentioned that Mr. Clarke was absent from illness. Moved by Mr. Pottles, seconded by Mr. Williavs, —That this Synod desires to record its thanks to the lady collectors for their active exertions in obtaining subscriptions and donations to the diocesan fund.— Carried. Mr. Pottles obtained leave to amend ms motion, so that it shall read,—That tho Synod go Into committee to consider the atandiag orders as brought up by the committee on standing orders. The Synod went Into committee, and tho standing orders as amended were adopted. Moved by Mr. Didsburt, seconded by Mr. Pottles, —ihat the Synod go into committee to report on tne Church Chronicle .- Carried. The Synod then went into committee, and the resolution of the report, to recommend an aUo»tion or a certain number ot copies to each parish or district, WM agreed to : and tho chairman reported Pr Movcd by Mr. Didsbury, !oC ™' , , ,, t ?,7b“adoptTd —That the resolution of the committee bo adopted. mlttee bo requMted to urge upon the Maoris the ifJeußltT of contributing to the fund.—Carried. president thanked the member* of tho Synod for ffier.S«co, and closed the Synod with the benediction. ■ ' ' •
