RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Thursday, Ootobbe 17. (Before T. A. Mansford, Esq., 8.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A now arrival by the steamer Wakatipu from Sydney, was fined 55., or in default twenty-four hours’ imprisonment. A FIREMAN IN TROUBLE. W. Scobie, a fireman belonging to the steamer Wakatipu, was charged with dissoboying the commands of the chief engineer of the steamer on the 9th October. Mr. Fitz Gerald appeared for the Complainant. The defendant was remanded for a week. Should the Wakatipu arrive before that time, accused will be brought before the Court. CIVIL OASES. In the following cases judgment was given for the plaintiffs Gilchrist and Waters v. Thomas Denby, claim £l3 2s. 7d.; Lawlor and another v. B. McDonald, claim £8 19s. 6d.; Wm. Earp v. W. Roberts, claim £2O, judgment for £5 ; Evening Argus v. Pasooe and Co., claim £l2 145., judgment for £lO 55.; same r. T. TJrwin, claim £6 10s. 6d., adjouyhed until Slat October ; same v. T. Kay, claim £3 ; same v. T. Margetts, claim £2 25.; same v. Clements, claim £5 175.; Isaac Kolepka v. Jacobin, claim £3 ; J. Smith v. W. AThomas, claim £Bl3s. Id. There were several other cases, which were adjourned.
