Henry Aldridge, on remand, was charge 1 with assaulting Elizabeth Mermian Savill. As Mr. Buckley, who was engaged for the defendant, was too ill to appear, the case was again remanded for a week. ANOTHER. CASE. William Firth was summoned by his wife Matilda Firth with assaulting her on (he 11th instant. Defendant said he was guilty and he was not guilty—if the Court could understand that. His Worship made no answer, and the plaintiff gave her evidence. She appeared in the box with a black eye, and stated that her husband had knocked. her about ou her shoulders and arms, which were black and blue. She gave no provocation whatever. BTHAV CATTLE, Alexander Cameron was fined ss. and costs for allowing two head of cattle to stray on the public road at Kaiwnrra.
