The anniversary tea meeting in connection with the Wesleyan Church, Mauners-sfereet, was held in the schoolroom at the rear of the church last night. There were about 300 persons present, and the affair Was a great success, After the tea had been disposed of a public meeting took place in the church. In the absence of Mr, Hobbs, M.H.R., the chair was occupied by the Rev. Mr. A. Reed. Addresses were delivered by the Revs. Moir, Dean West, Trivett, and Harrington. Mr. W. Clark, the secretary, read the annual report, which pressure ou our space today prevents us from publishing in full. It was on the whole of a satisfactory character, aud expresses gratification at the fact that the commercial prosperity of Wellington had to some extent reflected in the added gifts to the church. The congregations each Sabbath had been numerous, although hardly so large as might have been expected from the increase of population. The visit of the Rev. Doctor Somerville was gracefully referred to, as also that of Doctor Gervase Smith, the representative of the British Conference. During the past year a large measure of spiritual success had been granted to them, and daring the coming year still greater progress would be made if every one associated with the congregation did all they coull, and sought earnestly for the Divine blessing on their labors, laying themselves down at the feet of the Master, aud saying, “ Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do ?'* The trust account raised during the year was stated to be £156 12s. Id. There was raised by other means £669 16s, OJ. During the past year £l3O has been reduced from off the church debt, leaving a balance of £1350 yet in debt.
