RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Tuesday', September 3. (Before T. A. Mansford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A new arrival by the ship Zealandia was fined 5a for being drunt in the public street. BREACH OF CITY BY-LAWS. Alexander Cameron, an expressman, was summoned for obstructing the thoroughfare by leaving his horse and express unattended. Defendant was fined 2s. fid. and costs. FORGERY. The charge against Alfred Henry McLean for forgery was again proceeded with. The only witness examined was William Nicholson. The principal part of his evidence went to show that during the month of May last he had an interview with McLean at Karori, relative to selling the business. The papers (produced) were in connection with the disposal of the business. The signature “W. Nicholson ” was not in witness’s handwriting. The Court adjourned at i o’clock. The case will be resumed again after the ordinary business of the Court on Thursday.
