" A number of petitions were presented, among others petitions from natives against the passing into law of the Native Land Sales Suspension Bill. PERSONAL EXPLANATION. Dr. HENRY rose in order to make apersonal explanation with regard to a paragraph that appeared in the Evening Post.oi Tuesday last in respect to himself. Dr. Henry by permission of the House read the paragraph in question. He denied the imputations it cast upon him. THE POLITICAL SITUATION. The Hon. Major ATKINSON stated that he had received no intimation from Mb Excellency as to the appointment of the new Ministry. The late Ministry would therefore retain office UDtil their successors were appointed. Mr. LARNACH rose and stated to the House that his efforts to form a new Ministryhad been attended with success. He had, he said, submitted to his Excellency the names o£ the hon. members to compose the Ministry, and his Excellency was pleased to appoint the next day at noon as the time for administering the usual oath. He asked that the House would be good enough to grant an adjournment until half-past seven on Monday next. The Hon. Mr. REYNOLDS asked for the names of the new Ministers to be stated ? The enquiry elicited cries of " No, no." The Hon. Major ATKINSON then moved the adjournment of the House until half-past seven on Monday next. The House then rose.
