MISPLACED CONFIDENCE.

TO THE BDITOIt OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sik, —At the recent election of a member of the House of Representatives for the City of Wellington I voted for Mr. Travers, because he told the electors on more than one occasion that he could, and would, cordially work with our old member, Mr. Hunter, and would support the present Government. Is he now fulfilling those pledges ? If he is not, I, and I believe many others of his late supporters, will bitterly regret having ever helped to secure his election ; for it simply will mean that this our good city of Wellington is virtually disfranchised by him.— Yours, &c., A Victim of Misplaced Confidence. Wellington, October 5.
