CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS SCOTT RAMSAY ROSE BOWL MOUNT ALBERT SUCCESSFUL Tho annnnl champion of champions match for the Scott Ramsay Rose Bowl was tlio principal attraction staged by tho Auckland Football Association on I Saturday, when Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys defeated Ponsonby in a hard contest at Blandford Park. 'I ho exchanges were of a fast and interesting nature, tho ground and weather conditions being conducive to open inothocls. Abels failed to defeat MetroCollege in the game played to decide which team will have senior status next year, tho match ending in a draw. For tho third time in succession tho North Shore team drew with a Navy eleven at Devon port. Following were the scores:—

The respective winners of the chumpionsliip and Falcon Cup, Ponsonby and Mount > Albert Grammar Old Boys, played the annual champion of champions match for I the Scott Ramsay Hose Bowl on Saturday. The ground conditions were good and both teams gave fast and attractive exhibitions, the game ending in a win for Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys by 2 seals to 0. There was little to choose between the teams, although Mount Albert deserved to win by reason of its ability to make the most of its chances. The Ponsonby forwards lost several good chances, sometimes owing to bad luck, but their shooting could liavo been greatly improved. ' During the first half the Mount Albert forwards gave tho. Ponsonby defence anxious moments, the fast methods of -he attnekers having the opposing backs covering a great amount of ground in order to keep their goal intact. The second half was more evenly contested, the exchanges being fast and willing. Play moved from end to end with both gonls being threatened, but the teams had solid defensive units. Several spectacular saves were performed by Warren in the Mount Albert conl. especially in the second spell, when Ponsonby asserted itself. Iloldswoith defended well at fullback, his bustling methods proving very effective, while Turley. Word and Ilorrocks formed an intelligent half-line. Spencer, .Jepaon and Fyfie were conspicuous for clever attacking work in the forwards. Watson gave his usual safe display in Ponsonbv's goal, handling a number of shots with the greatest coolness. .Tones and Sims, facing tho fast-moving Mount Albert forward line, had a somewhat difficult time, but they tackled well avid kicked with judgment. Haggett and Masters were also very useful on defence, while the forward line as a whole was responsible for some bright work. Innes revealed speed, onthfl wms and he had clever supports m McCallum, Rigguna and Mullane. , Goals were scored for the winners by Jcpson and Fyfie. Mr. R. C. Brighton was referee.
