MATCHES AT WHANGAREI [DY TKLKCRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT 1 vVHANGAREI, Sunday Rugby Leagae matches were played at Hikurangi yesterday, when two senior games were decided in perfect weather, and on a ground in spleudid condition. The fipal of the senior knock-out competition resulted in a win for Hikurangi, 18, which defeated City. 6. The scores do not indicate the merits of the teams, the game being a very hard one, and a large attendance of spectators was treated to a fine display of aparkliiig football. City missed its star forward, R. Hollows, who has taken up his residence in Auckland. In the other senior match, a Whaninrei representative team, 13, defeated Papakura, 0. after a very even contest. For Whangarei Smith. C. O Callaghan and Zane each scored a try, nnd Angelo converted two. For Papakura Smith and Burgess (2) scored tries. LOWER GRADE RESULTS Third .
