CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Addington market, the entry was again ixeavy, nearly^ all the available accoxxxxxxodation being filled. The yarding included numerous drafts of lambs from Banks Peninsula. Good lambs sold as well as last week, bxit mediuxn and ixlferior sorts were a shade weaker. At no time was there any keenness in the sale. Ewes generally went back by ls to Is 6d a head. Wethers sold at prices which were little different from last week. Best forward' laxnbs to 19s; fairly good rape lambs 15s to 16s 6d; medium 13s_to 14s 6d; small and inferior 11s to 12s 9d; cxxlls 8s to 10s 6d; good three-quarter bred ewe lambs 20s. Best North Island two-toothed ewes to 31s 6d; good Noxdh Island twotoothed ewes 26s to 28s 9d; inferior 24s to 25s 6d; four six and! eight-toothed cross-bred e\Ves 18s 9d to 23s; foux*, six and eight-tooth-ed half-bred ewes 22s 6d to 29s; failing nxouthed half-bred ewes 14s to 18s 6d; four aixd six-tootimd halfbred wethers 19s ld.
Fat Lambs. — There was again a small entry totalling 2350 head com1 pared1 with 2600 last week. Generally the quality was better than has been the case for sonxe time. The demand was good, bolh butchers and freezing buyers operating actively, and although -duxTng the week there was a drop in the schedule rates of id per lb, values today were about as good as last week. Extra nrime lambs to 29s 7d; nrixne 24s 6d to 26s 6d; xxxeddxim 22s to 24s; light 19s 6d to 21s 6d. Fat Sheep. — Anotlrer small yardxn'g forward, 84 races being penned as against 9 last week, Old ewes formed a good propoxdion. of the yarding, and the general quality was not very attractive. Very few prime wethers were penned. The demand was good especially for prime sheep which showed an ixxxprovement on late saies of ls to ls 6d per head. Freezing buyers bought a fair proportion of ewes. Extra prime wethers 35s 4d; prime 27s to 29s 6d; medium 24s 9d to 26s 6d; light 22s 6d to 26s 6d; light 22s 6d to 24s 6cl; extra prime ewes to 24 s lOd; prime 18s to 22s; medium 15s to 17s 6d; light 13s 6d to 14s 9d; aged ewes 10s 6d to 13s. Fat Cattle. — The entry of fai cattle was the smallesi seen for several weeks totalling only 400 head as against 552 last week. Generally the quality xvas poor, and onlv a few prime steex's carne forward. A good number of indifferent cows were forward. Good cattle sold beG ter than last week throughout, but inferior stuff was not better and was hard of sale. Prices per lOOlbs were: Best beef 34s to 37s 6d!; medium to good 30s to 33s.; medium cow heef 24s to 26s 6d; rough down to 21s. Prime medium weight steers £12 , to £14; medium quality £9 7s to £11 10s; light steers £6 to £8 10s; extra prime heifers to £14 2s ' 6d; prime lieifers £8 5s to £9 15s; medixim heifers £5 10s to £7 10s; light £4 5s to £5 5s; extra prime cows to £12 17s 6d; px-ime cows £6 15s to £8 15s; ordinary cows £4 15s to £6 5s; rough cows £3 15s to £4 10s. Vealers. — The yarding of vealers was very small as result of which there was an improvement in px-ices. Runners to £6; good1 calves £5 to £5 15s; medium £3 10s to £4 17s 6d; sxxxall and inferior calves 10s to 25s. Store Cattle.' — Principally cows were forward. Generally there was a good demand. Eighteen months old steers £5; fresh cows to £4 10s; others £1 10s to £3; bulls £3 to £8. Dairy -Cattle. — Entry of dairy cattle comprised 65 head, mainly heifers, which sold readily being well conditioned and grown; good Sfcond;, third and fourth calvers £8 10s to £11 10s; extra good to £15;, medium sorts £6 10s to £8; inferior £4 to £5 15s; best springing heifex's £8 to £14 10s; medium and inferior £4 10s to £7 10s. Fat Pigs. — The entry was small. Values were equal to fhose of last week. Ghoppers £3 10s to £7 6s; light baconers £3 10s to £3 15s;
heavy £4 to £4 5s; extra heavy to £4 12s (average price for lb 5id to 64d). Light porkers 46s to 52s; heavy porkers 55s to 66s (average to 8d). Store Pigs. — A medium entry was forward. The sale opened at par with late rates, hut easedi towards the encl. Weaners 10s to 17s 6d; good weaners 19s to 21s 6d; small stores 22s to 31s; lxxedium stores 32s to 39s 6d; large stores to 47s,
