Refceived March 16, 11.5 p.m. LONDON, March 15. The butier market is in a state of chaos. Sellex's do not know what ; to ask or buyers what to offer. It 1 is expected to he several days be- j fox^e xuatters settle down. Mean- | while the trade in all descriptions j is practically at a standstill. A few saies have been effected of small 1 quantities of New Zealand hutter ' at 150s and of cheese at 80s, hut big j buyers are adopting a waiting policy. Until they comtoence opera- J tions the establishment of basic I prices is impossible. Austx*alian is j quoted nonxinally at 148s. 'The New Zealand Board's sugges- j tions that the weekly saies should axxxount to 90,000 boxes of butter and 45,000 cx'ates ot cheese are generally regaided as impracticable in view of the smallness of recent saies of New Zealand, as buyers px-efexTed to take other varieties.
