CARTERTON, Marcli 14. At the Wairarapa Rifle Association's meeting at Papawai to-day the leading s/cores at the end of the day were: H. Koppert (Oamaru) 288; C. Whiteman (Upper Hutt), R. J. King (Opaki), B. Holmes (Wanganui) 2'27, T. Orr- (Greytown) 226, R. Anderson (Taihape) 225. Koppert was second, winning £3 in the Canterhury match with a score of 46 and he was fourth in the Midfield Aggregate with 180 (top score being 183). CARTERTON, Last Night. The Wairarapa Rifle Association's meeting at Papawai was continued this morning under favourable conditions. A number of good shots crashed badly in the Dominion Match.Koppert (Oamaru) who was leading on the first day, fell lamentably, while H. Feast (Greytown), who had not been doing so well, rang on the only possible and brought himself into second place. B. Holmes (Wanganui) won bringing his total to 318. With his last shot to go he had to score four to beat R. J. King (Opaki). He was successful and took premier place. In the special match, 900 yards, fired in conjunction with the King's Forty, Koppert registered 45, being in tenth* plape. The following were the first seven in the King's Prize. — £8, B. Holmes (Wanganui) 318; £6; R. J. King (Opaki) 317; £4 10s, F. Clarke (Ashburton) 314, T. Orr (Greytown) 218; £3, H. Koppert (Oamaru) 313; £2, P. B. Goldfinch (Old Navals) 312, H.
