PRESENTATION.

At Waiareka school on Thursday, the 25th inst,, Mr P. B. Fraeer was mado tho recipient of a present from iho scholars on tno occasion of his leaving iho teaching profession for his new sphere of labor ftt Dunback. Willio Caldor presented Mr Fraser with a handsome travelling rug, and in doing so he feelingly spoko of the regret which tho scholars felt at parting with for Fraser. 'Amelia Mi'lar then handed Mr* Fraser a hand-bag as a token of tho respect »nd esteem in which she was he'd by tho pupils. Mr Fraser warmly thanked tho children for their kindness and regard, which ho valued all tho more highly because it was given with freedom and frankness. All tho years he had been with thorn ho had mver experienced an vi.kind act at tho hands of any of thorn, and ho hid a great regard for them all. Ho sincerely thanked them for their kindness in remembering Mrs Fraaer. Ito hopid that though ho was no longer teacher ho would continue to be their friend, and he would most ftlad'y servo any ono of them at any time. IVlr ladale, chairman of the School Committee, spoke of being so pieced to be there to witness the g( od focling of the pupils towards Mr Fraser He was sure Mr Fraser valued their kindness at its worth. Ho also said iho Committee would soon bo selecting a successor to Mr Fiaser, and ho hoped tho samo kindly feeling would exist botween teacher and pupils as before. Messrs It. Jackson and M'Grogc.r also oxpressed thoir especi.il pleasure at being there on that occasion, and a'su their hoarty good wishes for Mr and Mrs Frastr in tho future Tho childron commenced tho ceremony oy singing "A Man's a Man for a' That," and concluded by singing " Auld Lang Syne."
