MR FRASER IN WASHINGTON

LONG CONFERENCE WITH THE PRESIDENT Washington, Aug. 28. Mr Fraser lunched with Mr Cordell Hull, Secretary of State. Mr Stephen Early, the President’s Secretary, said President Roosevelt stayed up until 2 o’clock this morning talking to Mr Fraser and Mr Grew, previous jjjU S. Ambassador to Japan, in the President’s study. Mr Nash was also present. President Roosevelt and Mr Fraser resumed the conference after breakfast, spending most of the morning together. They then went to the Pacific Council meeting.—P.A. “HOSTILE RECEPTION” While posing for photographers Mr Fraser’s nose suddenly began to bleed. Quickly he commented, “I can hear it in Berlin and Tokio now: ‘New Zealand's Prime Minister gets a hostile reception at the White House.’ ” —P.A.
