WORK FOUND
FOR MARRIED MEN 740 TO BE PROVIDED FOR IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The announcement that the Government had found immediate employment for 740 married men from the four railway construction works closed down as a result of the recent suspensions, was made by .Itlie Acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, last evening. The men are to te engaged upon largescale development works in \arious parts ot the country, and they will be atawn from the railway camps on the GisbnrneWaikokopu, the Midland, the Dargaville branch, and the Okaihau-ltangia-hua lines. Works on which the men will be reengaged include Arapuni. roadmaking in the Waikaremoana district-.' road-making work north of Wairoa, and on the South Island Main Trunk.
