FIRE AT ASYLUM
INMATES RESCUE NURSES (Unitpd Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy right). PARIS, 10th January. Inmates of an insane asylum near Orleans organised to rescue six nurses sleeping in a room over a laundry which was on fire. One attempted to escape from a window by the aid of a rope made of knotted sheets but fell and broke her spine. The patients rescued four, and another died from excitement before the firemen quelled the fire.
