VERY POPULAR
THE DOLE IN BRITAIN CLAIMED BY FIVE MILLION LAST YEAR (United Proas Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 10th January. The fact that the dole was claimed at some time or other by five million persons during 1930 was revealed by Mr Bowlers, Accountant-General to the Ministry of Labour, in evidence before the Royal Commission, owing to the widespread nature of unemployment in Britain.
