MEAT AND MILK PRICES
(To the Editor) Sir.—Some months ago I drew attention to the difference in the prices of mutton in Wellington and Nelson. In August last whole sides of mut».on were selling in Wellington at 7s lid. Recently other correspondents have quoted prices in other places for meat and milk. It may interest them and the public generally to know that the following prices are being and have been for some time past advertised in our neighbouring town of Blenheim: Mutton, long hind quarters, 3s 6d, fores 2s, whole sides 5s 6d, loins Is 6d. Prime first grade lamb: Hind quarters ss, fores 4s, delivered. Pork sausages 6d per lb. Incidentally although Marlborough is needing rain just as badly as we do or worse milk is Id per quart less than in Nelson. How much longer are tlie public of Nelson to be exploited? —I am, etc.. RESIDENT. Nelson, 12th January.
