PERSONAL ITEMS

At tho meeting of the Nelson City Council last evening the Mayor, Mr W. J. Moffatt, welcomed Councillor S. A. Gibbs back to Nelson. The Mayor hoped Dr. Gibbs’s holiday had been beneficial to him and liope'd knowledge gained on municipal matters would bo of benefit to the city. Councillor Gibbs thanked the Mayor and Council for “keeping bis seat vacant and warm for him until bis return.” He said he had taken an interest in municipal matters while away. His trip had been enjoyable and dear old England was still dear old England. The traffic question at Home had reached a state when it was almost beyond control. He again thanked the Mayor for his welcome.
