SATURDAY’S MATCHES i Senior—Upper Moutere v. Whakarewa; Riwaka v. Lower Moutere. Junior—Whakarewa defeated Ngatimoti B.; Ngatimoti defeated Motueka; Lower Moutere defeated Tui. In the senior competition the matches Upper Moutere v. Whakarewa and Riwaka v. Lower .Moutere were commenced on Saturday, the former on the Whakarewa ground and the latter at Lower Moutere. In the first innings Upper Moutere scored 84 (O. Eggers 31) and Whakarewa 39 (J. Parkes 10). Lower Moutere were dismissed for 46 (V. Krammer 21), while Riwaka, when stumps were drawn, had knocked up 197 runs for eight wickets. Best scores were R. Fowler 38, G. Fowler 38, S. Barnett 34. Three matches were played in the junior competition. Whakarewa defeated Ngatimoti B. team after declaring in the second innings (107 for 7 wickets) by 118 runs.
