FROZEN MEAT TRADE Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 2nd January, 1931: Frozen meat quotations (prices on a delivered basis, i.e, including storage charges, cartage, market tolls, etc.): — North Island .Down lambs, 28/36 9£d per lb, 36/42 9£d; best North Island crossbred lambs, 28/36 9J d, 36/42 9J,d; North Island second quality lambs average 30/31, 7d ; best North Island wether sheep under 481bs, s£d, 48/56 4d, 56/64 4|d, 64/72 4|d; North Island ewes under 481bs 4d, 48/46 3£d, 56/64 3|d, 64/72 3£d; New Zealand prime ox beef 160/220 4£d. As compared with last week’s quotations North Island ewes under 48 £d per lb higher, 56/65 /,d per lb lower. Others unchanged. The first four quotations are for new season’s lamb.

Danish 140 sto 142 s (140 s to 1425); New Zealand finest salted 116 s to 118 s (Ills to 114 s): Australian finest unsalted 114 s to 116 s (110 s to 112 s), salted 112 s to 116 s (109 s to Ills), g.a.n. 106 s to 110 s (104 s to 108 s). Cheese.—Market steady at present prices. Australian white 60s to 61s (58s to 60s), coloured 58s to 59s (57s to 58s); New Zealand white 61s to 62s (59s to 61s), coloured 59s to 60s (58s to 595); spot price for Canadian white 74s to 78s (72s to 78s). coloured 74s to 76s (72s to 78s).
