HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT WELLINGTON, 29th July. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 27th instant,-from-the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—No auction this week. Only small trade without change in values. Wool.—General tone of Bradford market little easier, but tendency still to limit purchase to immediate requirements. Present quotations for tops ares—64's warp, 3s 3d to 3s 3|d per lb; average 3s 2d; 56's 2s 4£d;so's prepared 2s Id; 40's prepared Is 9d. Apples.—S.s. Norfolk consignment deteriorated very rapidly. All varieties affected but London Pippin and Sturmer Pippin in a worse condition. Fair demand for good medium sized apples which made up to 20s but bulk'of shipment unsound. Prices range from 2s to 20s per case." " Hemp.—Manila offerings more free but buyers holding back and prices easier. Closing values for "J" grade, shipment to be in August/October, £3B. Sisal: Market continues firm at last rates quoted. Demand is chiefly for good marks. New Zealand: Market continues quiet with little interest shown by buyers or tellers and nominal comparative values unchanged. Stocks in London at the 30th June 70 tons against 60 tons at the same time last year.
