LONDON,. May 6.
Amundsen, wirelessing from King's Bay on Tuesday, says Riisorlarsen and Dietrichsen conferred-with the meteorologists and it- was agreed that the weather would be settled for some time, .old they expressed the hope that the Fram and Hobby would sail northwards so that the aeroplanes leave for the Pole on Wednesday. The pilots received the decision as a mere everyday occurrence. This is characteristic of the whole spirit of the - expedition. The day was devoted to the finfil examination of the aeroplanes, whereon only • absolute necessities will be carried, including arms and cartridges as a precaution against, the •curiosity, of polar bears. The Fram is taking up a base at Danes Island, but will ■go farther west if an opening is found. The Hobby, which is better equipped to-re-sist the ice, is going as far east as possible.
