FRENCH OPERATIONS AO AIN ST RIFFS

The Government is determined on exemplary punishment of the Rilfs. It has been decided to send reinforcements, mostly consisting of aviators and engineers to .Morocco, where there are at present 60,000 troops, only two-thirds of wnich arc available against the Riffs. The total Riffs are computed at 20,000, though the number of reserves is unknown. The operations cover a front of several hundred miles in (mountainous country.
Three French columns operating against the Riffs claim successes.

The Times Tangier correspondent- re ports the death of Raisuli at Adjir, tin Riff headquarters, on 21st April.
