BRITISH EMPIRE'S SOLIDARITY
GERMANS AMAZED. NEW IDEA FOR TURCO-GERMAN RELATIONS'. (Published' in The Times.) LONDON, Sept. 26. The German press are amazed at Britain's' quickness in raising the " citizen army and the continued influx of Dominion troops, pointing out that these factors are responsible for the terrific force of the Somme offensive. The papers warn Germany not. to expect a speedy termination of the war ,but to prepare for greater sacrifices to save the Fatherland. The Frankfurter Zeitang admits that Germany is now using Turkey for Germany's defence. It draws a parallel between the Turco-German and British Empire relations. "We erroneously thought the Dominions would leave the Emoire," it ontinues, "but they did not want to be free. V/e must establish similar political Turco-German relations as those of England and the Dominions." Diplomatic circles state that Herr Von Jagow is about to resign the Foreign Secretary-ship owing to illhealth.
