Boddiugton then lost his wicket to Spofiiortb, having been in a long lime, and plajed well. 68 — 12 -2. Naylor followed, and shortly after, Wigzell, who was punishing the bowling severely, w.as given out leg before wicket. 68-13 13. Thinking perhaps that they were a little put out at not having scored an easy victory in Nelson such as they had secured with so little apparent effort in Wellington and elsewhere, the crowd good-naturedly overlooked what most of them rogardetf~Hs a very decided breach of good manners, and a large number accompanied them to the wharf and saw ihem on board the steamer, and just before they moved off gave them another ringing cheer, but again not the slightest notice was taken of the display of good feeling on the part of the visited to the visitors. Then the crowd dispersed, and being a very good humored and on the whole a charitably disposed lot of fellows, they contented themselves with remarking that perhaps they had expected too much from the Australians, who evidently did not know any better Rightly, or wrongly, this is the impression they have succeeded in leaving behind them in Nelson.
