Racecourse, Tuesday, Great Autumn Handicap, of 10 hoys each, with 300 soys added; one mile and a half: Camballo (Hams) 1, Mata (Matthews) 2, Betrayer (Clifford) 3. Foul Play, Titania, Volunteer, Norseman, Marie Antoinette, and Lunn also started. On Dit was scratched. Betting— 10 to 1 agst Cambello, 3to 1 agst Mata, 2 to 1 agst Betrayer. After some fiddling ;-»t the post a start was effected, Marie Antoinette getting away best, -with Betrayer next, and Mata third. This order was maintained until opposite the Stand, when LFoul Play assumed the lead. At the three-quarter mile post Titania went up to the leader, and when turning into the straight Mata and Foul Play came round together, with Camballo lying on the off side. The two leaders then raced up the straight, leaving Foul Play behind. Betrayer now came up with a "rush, which Camballo auswered, ond amidst great excitement assumed the lead, winning by a length. Time, 2mins 41 sees. There were £139 in the totalisator, and only five investors on the winner. Chabipion Stakes, of 15 soys each, with 250 govs added; six furlongs: Sir Modred 1, Lure 2, Virginia Water 3. Romeo and The Governor also started. Betting— Even on Sir Modred, 2to 1 agst the others. When coming into the straight Sir Modred, Virginia Water and Lure turned the corner in a batch. The three then raced up the straight, Lure passing the filly at the distance post, but could not catch the winner, who landed by a length Time, Imin 19aees. Inthe totalisator there were £80, there being thirty three investors on the winner. Wednesday. The weather is beautiful. The attendance on the course was small, the morning [trains bringing very few down. Before the first race started a notice was posted up that Fishhook, was scratched for all his engagements. There was very little betting in the paddock on the first event. Autumn Nurskry Handicap, of .5 soys each, with 100 soys added; for two-year-olds; five furlongs: Lure 1, lhe Governor 2, Sir • Modred 3. Virginia Water also 'started. Hilarious was scratched. Betting — 2 to lon Sir Modred, 2 to 1 against the others. After several breaks away at the post, in which Sir Modred, Governor, and Virginia's colors were very prominent, a start was effected, Lure and the Governor having the best of it. The two led into the straight with Sir Modred in attendance, and the same order wa3 maintained to the post, although Sir Modred made a strong effort to catch the other horses. Lure won by half a length, Sir Modred being two lengths behind the second horse. The time was not taken before telegraphinv. There were '£182 in the totalisator, and twenty-six investors on the winner. Easter Hvndicap of 5 soys. each, with one hundred soys added ; one mile : Camballo l, Betrayer 1, Foul Play 3. Le Loup was scratched.* Betting, 2 to 1 on the field. A splendid start was effected, Camballo. if anything, a little in the rear. At the first turn, Betrayer and Foul Play were running neck aud neck, but when turning into the straight Camballo came up with a tremendous rush, Foul Play's rider sitting down and whippiug. At the distance Betrayer was leading, with Camballo coming up hard, and after a splendid race forced gradually ahead, winuing by threequarters of a length. Time oue mm. 46£ sees. There were £113 in the totalisator, and twenty-three investors on the winner.
