INTERPROVINCIAL.
Wellington, Tuesday night. Three Greek fisherman went out on Satur day fishing; they were last seen getting their nets ready at the Heads. Several search parties are out scouring the coast. A rudder waß picked up much like that of the missing boat. Petitions were presented against the Auckland City West election, and Sir George Grey's election for Christchurch. The 19th instant is fixed as the day to arrange for a Committee to enquire into the allegations re elections. At a caucus of the supporters of the late Ministry to-day there were forty-three present, amongst them being Messrs Pyke and Shephard. After a long discussi >n as to the future line of action an executive Com mittee was formed to watch over affairs. It was agreed that nothing further should be divulged. Wednesday. Though not officially stated, it is understood that the following will be the new Ministry:— Mr Hall, Premier and Colonial. Secretary ; Mr Whitaker, senior, AttorneyGeneral, with a seat in the Legislative Council ; Major Atkinson, Treasurer and Commissioner of Customs ; Mr Rolleston, Minister for Public Works, Immigration, and Education ; Mr Oliver, Minister for Lands and Mines ; Mr Bryce, Native Minister, with Mr Tomoana as Native colleague. There is one portfolio still undecided. The New Zealander says that Mr Hall will bring iv a Bill providing for the appointment of two Under Secretaries, one in each House, at a salary of £800 per annum, one appointment to be for Mr Wakefield. The same paper say 3 that Sir George Grey is about to relinquish the leadership of his party. A slight shock of earthquake wa9 felt here this morniog. In the Supreme Court Morton Quinn was charged with embezzling £9 10s, the property of the Wellington Disirict Court Ancient Order of Foresters. The principal poiot was that the counsel for the defence objected that there was no proof of the registration of the names of the trustees, pointing out that the certificate of the registration of the rules was signed by G. S. Cooper, Uuder Secretary, for the Registrar of Frieudly Societies, instead of by the Registrar himself. The Court held that the objection was fatal, and the jury acquitted the prisoner. This is the third case of a similar character that has fallen through here lately. The Crown Prosecutor intimated his intention of sending another bill to the Grand Jury charging Quin with larceny of the money of the copartnership, of which he was a member. A charge of this nature is now goiog on against Welsh, the Secretary of the Hiberiau Benefit Society, which does not pretend to be registered at all. The schooner Falcon, from Hobarton , encountered terrible weather. The wheel was smashed by a heavy sea, the cabin door burst in, and the cabin flooded. The danger was so imminent at oue time that a considerable quantity of the cargo was thrown overboard. Later. The new Ministry will be sworn in this afternoon. The portfolio of Public Works bas been transferred to Mr Oliver. There i 3 no truth in the statement made by the New Zealander that two Under Secretaries at £800 a year were about to be created. Gisborne, Wednesday. In the riot ca3e the Grand Jury threw out the bill and made a presentment as to the hardship of sending to a distant place cases which should be dealt with on the spot. Foxton, Wednesday. At 4.14 this morning there was the sharpest shock of earthquake felt for many years. There was three distinct waves.
