Sxdnet, Saturday. The Governer has received a despatch from the Secretary of State saying that the Government has no intention of proposing to Parliament the annexation of New Hebrides. The Governor will prorogue Parliament on Tuesday. The Eaaby sailed to-day. Melhourne, Saturday. The Cable Conference is concluded. The result includes Colonel Glover's proposal for a duplication from Singapore to Port Darwin ; also a second cable from Penang to Singapore. The subsidy to be £32,000, annually paid rateably by the colonies according to their population. The press rates are to be reduced one-fourth, and Government messages one-half. New Zealand and Tasmania get no advantage from the reduced cable rates. Nothing has been done regarding the duplicatiou nf the Porfc Darwin land line.
