On his return he will call at Berlin and open with London negotiations of the utmost importance. He haa brought no written proposals, but ouly explains the views of the British Government. May 14. A semi-official note published here advocates the following as a solution for preserving the vitality of Turkey -.—The administrative autonomy of the Christian population as tributary to the Porte, and giviug Bosnia to Austria. Berlin, May 13. No clue has yefc been discovered as to tbe cause of the attempted assassination of the Emperor by a Socialist at Leipsic. London, May 15. The Lancashire riots continue. The military force has been strengthened, bufc there has been no collision yet. May 16. Russiau agents are negotiating for the purchase of ships in the United States suitable for privateers. Negotiations are proceeding between the Blackburn and other operatives.
