DISTRICT COURT.
[Gefore His Honor Judge Broad.] PERJURY. William Harvey was charged with having committed perjury in the Resident Magistrate's Court. Mr 11. Adams, with him Mr Bunuy, appeared for the Crown. Prisoner was 'undefended. The following jury was sworn .--John Newbury, John Cockram, David Gilbertson, David Gregg. George Redworth, G. W. Hurst', G. Rowbotham, H. D. Jackson, John Keene W. V. Salter, Louis Sheather, S. B.Johuson' (foreman). ' Mr Adams haviug opeued the case for the prosecution, proceeded to examine the witnesses, whose evidence has already been reported in the trials of Isaac Harvey and C. K Turner. The witnesses were not cross-examined, and no defence was offered, and the jury without retiriug found a verdfet of Guilty. His Honor sentenced the prisoner to twelvemonths' imprisonment with hard labor, stating at the same time that he and his brother and Turner had laid themselves open to a second prosecution for perjury committed by them iu the evidence they had given in the District Court. The Court then adjourned.
