His Honor Mr Justice Gillies was a passenger by the Hawea this morning. He will sit- in banco to-morrow, and the ordinary sittings of the Circuit Court will commenco on Monday. There are, however, no petty jury cases set down for hearing. The receipts of the Nelson and Foxhill railway for the four weeks ending July 29 were £434 Is 3d. The number of passengers who travelled on the line during that period was 2848, and the quantity of goods 393 tons, and of timber 48,200 feet. Ifc appears that the line is commencing to be nsed fbr the transportation of livestock, although as yet to a] very limited extent, " one calf " figuring under this heading for the four weeks above mentioned. An error appeared in the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency's! tetegram as published by ua yesterday. " The wool market has receded," should I have read "The wheat market has receded."
