News just received via Cooktown per steamer frum Hong Kong s — There is no sign of the mail steamer yet. The steamer Mecca, from Hong Kong arrived this morning and anchored three mi!es from the shore. We boarded her at 6.30, and got a batch ot telegrams from the Subinarin Company at Hong Kong. The Mecca left Hong Kong on tin 25ih of June, European affairs are pacific, and there is no further indication of war. Ttie Mecca brings 130 passengers, all Chinese, and 30 tons of cargo for Cooktown. She reports the mail-steamer Normanby as h,»ving left Hongkong on the 20th of June for Singapore.
