THE BRIDGE -STREET SCHOOL.
To the Editor op the Evening Mail. Sib,— l had written you at considerable length explanatory of the state of thu scho! wben handed over to m=, and also on the other clauses of the report of my school; but as you think it is an undesirable course to pursue, I withhold it. I was not awara that there wa3 any Court of Appeal to which an aggrieved teacher could go. I ara told the feeling ia chronic in the Province. May I ask you, then, simply to supplement the report by allowing me to sire the actual results of the examinatiou of the first clt-si in arithmetic and spelling. There yrere eight boys examined in dictation, one spelt every word correctly, four bad one error each, two had two each, and one had four. In arithmetic ev«-y hoy passed. The pat-s being the solving of three questions correctly. There were nine questions. One boy did the . nine, two did six, threo did five, two did four. I have always understood that if examinees secured a pass, they escaped beiog damned, aud something more even. In deference to your opinion, I leave tbo matter there.— l am, &c, Wm. Pares.
