CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the ' Evening Mail ' Sir—la this morning's issue of the Daily Times I find that Mr Curtis js accused of a " little blowing" with regard to what he has done ia hia place in the House as oar member about the election of Mayor. Those who know Mr O>rtis know that he in not in the habit of " blowing " about anything he does The facts are these:—-I heard that Mr Ward was going to bring in a Bill to provide for the election of the Mayor of Blenheim by the i ratepayers, and I saw, our Mayor and aug- * gesetto him that it? would be a goo 1 plan to telegraph to Mr Curtis/ asking him to get Mr Ward to have Nelson included in the Bill. This he declined to do, / therefore, knowing it was the wish of a lares' / number of the ratepayers that the Maxtor ' should ta elected by them, and having spefken to Mr Curtis before about ie, I telegraphed to I him :—" General wish Mayor should be elected by ratepayers. Can you get Nelson included in Blenheim Bill ? " On Wednesday I reeeivel the answer published by you yesterday, which, lam sore, will give general satisfaction, —l am, &c, J. F. Dodson. '
