COMMERCIAL.
The exports for the month show an aggregate of £1 ,060,200 sterliug, showing a decline of j £103,200. New Zealand exports show an increase of .£54,300 on the month. Wool shows great activity ; private demand for consumption being unabated. Stocks are low, and further advances are expected. The Liverpool sales opened an advance of two-pence. Money ample ; bank rate 3 per cent. Dividends declared by the Union Bank of 13 per cent.; New Zealand Trust, 10 per cent.; New Zealand Loan, 12£ per cent. Business in Australian securities has been brisk. New Zealand consolidated fives, 103; sixes, 1890, 112£ to 113. Tallow is firm, aud a good business is doing ; stock, 7851 packages mutton. 45,486 beef. Hides are in moderate demand ; no quotitions. New Zealand flax is in good demand, and stocks (*re almost exhausted. Prices realised are 30s per ton advanced.
