Arrived from New Zealand. — Excelsior, and William Davie. Sailed for New Zealand— Dover Castle, Helenslee, Warwick, and Thames. Seven vessels are loading for New Zealand. GENERAL SUMMARY. Earl Mayo, Viceroy of India, was assassinated on Andamain Island. The Alabama excitement is abated, and no rupture is now apprehended between England p.nd the States, a friendly diplomatic solution of the difficulty being hoped for. The Tic'nborne.case is yet unfinished. The Attorney-General is addressing the jury on behalf of the defendant. The Royal Colonial Institute has voted an address of sympathy to tbe Queen. The collection of objects of science made by the Duke of Edinburgh is now being exhibited in London. The full court declined to grant a new trial in the Firebrase divorce case. It is rumored that the Hon. Mr. Childers wiil shortly receive the presidency of the Board of Trade. The labor Market continues thoroughly disorganised ; workmen are increasing their demands. An extensive seizure reported of forged notes on the Bank of Ireland at Limerick.
